  • Blended Learning

    Graduate School of Business, College of Business UUM is offering the MBA. The topics, designed to be relevant for today's executives, are delivered in a unique blended model that employs the Internet with the added advantage of face to face tutorials. Learning delivery of the Corporate Seminar Series is powered by a customized learning management system, a community enhanced learning centre, and optionally, CD-ROM's for each topic. Lectures facilitated by the UUM teaching faculty provide insightful learning experiences that are also supported throughout the program via the Internet. Designed to accommodate part-time adult learners, the MBA uses a new delivery model for teaching post-graduate degree program. Blending e-learning with traditional classroom teaching in a hybrid model, the MBA is taught using adult oriented learning where learner independence ranks high in priority and support is provided as and when it's needed. Each subject has 30 contact hours with the UUM teaching faculty and with support driven by a Learning Management System and the Learning Centre for the remaining 12 credit hours fulfilling UUM's mandated 42 contact hours per course.

  • Entry Requirement

     Applicants for Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme must possess the following:

    1. A Bachelor's degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA of at least 2.75; and
    2. At least three (3) years of work experience relevant to the chosen area of specialization or a good score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT); and
    3. Fulfill English Language requirement (International applicant only).

     

  • English Requirement

    International applicants should meet any one of the following English requirements before they are accepted for admission into the programmes. Students must obtain:

    1. Minimum score in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
      1. 550 in the TOEFL Paper Based Test; or
      2. 213 in the TOEFL Computer Based Test; or
      3. 80 in the TOEFL Internet Based Test; or
    2. Minimum score of 6.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or
    3. A degree from any English Speaking Countries (i.e. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and United States of America).
    4. A degree from any Country with English Language Education System (i.e. Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Botswana, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Cameroon, Canada, Cayman Island, Dominica, Falkland Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guam, Guernsey, Guyana, India, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jamaica, Jersey, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malta, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Montserrat, Namibia, Nauru, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Rwanda, Saint Helena, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, U.S Virgin Islands, Uganda, United Kingdom, USA, Zambia, and Zimbabwe); or
    5. A degree from any Local Public Universities, which English is the medium of Instruction.

    Students have to take any four (4) of the following courses offered:

    Total : 42 credit hours

  • Learning Duration

    • 3 sessions annually: Jan, May, Sept
    • 4 Month per session
    • 1 week break minimum at end of session
    • 1 or 2 topics every 2 month
    • MBA completion in a minimum of 4 session or 18 months

  • Teaching Structure

    For every topic -

    • 6 meetings: 5 hours each , held on alternate weekends or successive weekends
    • 12 hours of web tutorials

    Saturday -3pm to 8pm

    Sunday- 9am to 2pm
