A profile of recent Rezzen Center graduates

UUM’s upcoming convocation on the 1st and 2nd October this year was represented by 62 Rezzen center students - 2 DBA's and 60 MBA's.Coming from centers for adult learners, the graduates represent the full range of professions and at all different ranks. At least six or seven institutions of higher learning count their staff among those graduating in this batch. Reflecting the rise of new higher education institutions, many graduates will probably return to teaching careers enhanced by their earned higher degrees and fulfilling the Ministry of Higher Education guidelines of only those with higher degrees being allowed to teach at that level. Among the others are also accountants, lawyers, managers of different business processes and services such as insurance, manufacturing processes, insurance, advertising, engineering, information technology, medical services, oil and gas, and airlines. A number of graduates come from Government-linked companies, most being supported by the Human Resources Development Fund. As usual,our early efforts to train TM staff continue, though at a somewhat slower pace than before. Large clusters of graduates come from free trade zones in Penang, Technology parks in Kulim, KL and Mak Mandin in Melaka. Reflecting this, our batch has test and quality engineers, and at least one or two of them have risen to the rank of Managing Directors.

Again, reflecting the maturity and drive of our graduates, a sizable proportion of them have taken the fast track route of taking a double workload in order to halve the completion period- most times involving extra travel to take modules not offered at their home centers. Overall, UUM can rest assured it is fulfilling its mission of enhancing the nation’s manpower needs, in crucial management roles.
